I have been using a diagram for the last while, however I have been toying with the idea of switching over to the pill. Is ther anything I should know about it in advance?

You should decide how often you want to have periods- every month or only several times a year- to help choose a brand. You should be aware of some of the side effects and warnings: it is recommended that you not smoke, that you not take the pill if you are more than 35 years old, you may experience spotting between periods or weight gain... You should know about drug interactions that can reduce the effectiveness of the Pill such as antibiotics... If you have problems remembering to take your medicines you may want to rethink switching to the Pill. You should be aware that it can take a few months for fertility to return after being on the Pill, so if you are planning a pregnancy any time in the near future, this can be an issue.
