Hi there, newbie....My shrink switched me from Cipralex to Cymbalta this summer. I am going through hell. The cymbalta has given me Sjogren's syndrome (though technically the antibodies aren't present..) My dysphagia is much worse because of the saliva problem, I feel sick and feverish all the time...

I was fine on Cipralex for four years. There was no need for change and I've been complaining about cymbalta from the start.

Last night was the final straw; I couldn't swallow my food.

So....will my head explode if I simply stop taking the cymbalta and return to Cipralex? I thought I'd take cymbalta every two days to avoid dire consequences...

Any suggestions? I seem to have suffered every adverse reaction cymbalta has to offer...

Thank you so much!

Hi Bosie,

What you are experiencing are the side effects to the new drug. If you like what you were previously on, contact your doctor and tell him you refuse to take the new medicine and is going back on the old one. In this case the side effects aren't worth the reduced quality of life you are experiencing.

Good Luck,

Faded Rose
