Q: Swelling and pain in testicle

Hello,

I'm a 22 year old healthy male.

I've noticed a pain in my testicles on Sunday night. Like a sensation of being messed in the testicles but the person just missed so there is a stinging sensation.

The Tuesday before that I decided I would get fit and I was doing some riding on a exercise bike.

I rode every night from 30 to 60 minutes. One session went for as long as 80 minutes.

I rode from Tuesday to Sunday when I first noticed pain evident.

The seat on the exercise bike is quite uncomfortable and I have even resorted to putting a pillow on the seat so I can continue exercise.

From Sunday the pain has gradually become less evident. But upon inspection tonight, Wednesday night.

I discovered that the testicle in question (right one) was twice the size of the other.

The swollen testicle for the main part is not painful to touch. Pretty much just a larger form of my normal testicles.

But at the very end there is a small ball which is more stiff to touch and can be quite sore.

I haven't had any abdominal pains, fever, blood in semen or other symptoms other than the swelling and small lump apparent.

I plan on seeing a Doctor but I would like to know what to expect how severe the cause could be?

Because I've been frightening myself with thoughts of Testicular cancer when it could well just be inflammation and some bruising.

I might also add I don't have health insurance so I'd like an estimate window I could work in so I could get the adequate coverage if it turns out for the worst.

hmmmmmmmmmm
your only young, you haven't had the problem for long & you have had some contact trauma ( ie the near miss & the bike seat soon after)
i wouldn't be too worked up about it just yet, but why don't you do some study on symptoms of testicular cancer it will put your mind at ease, & a lot of the time we humans worry too much about what might happen instead if the matter in current focus Go see a doctor. Id be interested to hear how things panned out just dont stress.

Cancer would be worst case scenario. Best case would be bruising and swelling that'll eventually die down.

I did some research and swelling and pain is quite rare in testicular cancer. And that both swelling and pain are not uncommon in long bike rides on uncomfortable seats.

Thanks for the reply and offer for private message. But I'm fine speaking about this in the open. Perhaps someone else has a similar case in future and can read about it here.
Then again I haven't been inspecting the area routinely so maybe the bike injury prompted an already previous condition to my attention.

Pain is less evident today (Thursday) but the swelling is still there.

I read comfortable underwear, warm baths and anti-inflammatories are good to help reduce swelling. So I've been taking those.

I'll see how it goes over the weekend. If not I'll probably see a Doctor. Or even go straight to a Urologist.

testicle swelling
Just recently had a similar scare. I noticed a large lump on the side of my right testicle and an ache. I am taking an anti-inflammatory. I hope it's just a bruise and swelling. No blunt trauma had occurred, but I do ride my bicycle regularly.

Scrotum pain
Let me ask you

Yesterday I was in bad pain near my intestine

I couldn't fart or crap but was able to urinate

I tried warm tea, warm water, broth, pepto bismol and Immodium MD

The Immodium MD broke up a gas bubble but now theres pain in left side and bottom part of my scrotum and feels a bit hard and larger than normal today

I can walk but with some pain

I sit down and get up with some pain

Could it be inflamation or infection or something worse?
And when should inflammation, perhaps from the large bubble thati t goes away?

Alan
