Does anyone out there know of a medication specifically designed for swallowing anxiety? With all due respect I do not need to be told to relax and forget about it as its way more complex than that. Have had this for twenty five years and had all the tests and anti depressants dont help. Any advice appreciated.
What are you anxious about swallowing? Food? Pills? Something else? Or just swallowing in general?
I don't think they make pills specifically for certain types of anxiety because anxiety is too...general. I think it would be more beneficial perhaps to talk to a therapist or psychologist and figure out the source of your issue. It might be more phobic in origin which would be much easier to fix than generalized anxiety. Pills would just mask the symptoms, not treat the cause. Just telling you to relax isn't going to help, but maybe a professional actually teaching you *how* to relax in that situation would be better. I don't know the specifics about your situation, so I can't really give more advice than that.
