My daughter is 6 months old now she has reflux and she has just got a flu type thing I had the beggining of this week. She was fine Thursday she just had a runny nose and a bit of a cough but yesterday everytime I lay her down to sleep she started gagging and projectile vomitting which is not like her at all. Last night she swallowed in her sleep she started gagging and attcally stopped breathing and did this many times in the night, She was crying alot and off her food which isn't like her either. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can do for her apart from making sure she has plently of fluid, giving her calpol and snufflebabe for her runny nose. Thanks. Zara

You can put a humidifier in her room, cool mist is the best. Also using a nasal syringe a few times a day (before naps and bedtime) will help clear things up. You can elevate her head on a pillow while she sleeps with supervision, or have her sleep in a carrier or swing.

Don't worry about pushing solids if she doesn't want them.

Since she is stopping breathing, I highly suggest you take her into the doctor right away. That's a more serious effect of the flu, and should be handled professionally, especially in one so young.
