Q: swallowing after c6-7 fusion

i have had my fusion 4 days ago and i am happy to report that my arm pain is gone, headaches are gone and weakness is gone. I do however have a problem swallowing since surgery and it seems to be getting more painfull. also the incision is alittle swollen and it feels as though there is a small ball on it. is this normal? my neck also hurts when i bend down. let me know if any of you are experiencing anything like this please!!! i am concerned.

Dysphagia or difficulty swallowing, occurs in 9.5-19.8% of patients with one level ACDF, but increases to 1/3 of the patients when a 2 level is performed. This is the most common complication of the surgery. It gradually goes away in the vast majority of patients, however up to 5% of those that complain of it initially after surgery continue to have some symptoms of the same one year later.
