my 5 year old son woke up this morning with 3 bites on his forehead, as the day has gone on it has got more and more swollan, to about the size of a egg, and spreading down to the top of nose ( between the eyes ). I have asked him if its sore, but he says it just feels normal, and not even itchy at all. should i be worried? has anybody else had this happen? i havent been worried because i react quite badly to bites, and hes has a bite on his ear before quite similar, but not to this extent.

Hello and welcome to e health forum. ‎

From the description of the skin reaction, following the bite, it appears to ‎be cellulitis with bacterial infection. ‎Other possible causes can be allergic reactions, which usually present with a enlarged swelling and then subside within the next 24 hours.

The proper treatment of such condition, needs a course of antibiotics and supporting anti-‎inflammatory medications or antihistamines.

You may consult with your doctor, for a prescription of the antibiotics. ‎Over the counter medications like Advil for children, can be given to reduce the inflammatory reaction and help in quick healing. Application of icepacks will also be helpful.

I hope this helps.
