About 2 months back, my sis complained about a pus like discharge from her mouth and a swelling on her right cheek. Considering it could be a rotten mouth ulcer, my mom took her to a nearby hospital. The doctors gave her some antibiotics. The swelling subsided after a couple of days but the pus discharge continued. Without realising the gravity of the situation, we continued the treatment for sometime. then one fine day the doctor insisted on a MRI to be done. After the MRI, he concurred that it was a dentigrous cyst and there was an impacted tooth (molar), which was to be clinically removed. I went and consulted another dental doctor and he asked me to get an OPG done, he said that it is an impacted tooth but their was no sign of a lesion or cyst. The MRI report said it could be a lesion. the MRI showed that the right sinous to be hazy.

I am now consulting a third soctor who is a maxillofacial surgeon, who says that it may or may not be a dentigerous cyst. He has asperated it and sent the sample for a cytoplasmic smear but the report negates any malignancy. This surgeon suggests that we perform a surgery procedure and clean the affected area plus perform a biopsy.

Please someone guide me if we are on the right track or if there are any precedence to similar case. Any advise one this. i will be highly obliged.
