My stepson is 10 years old. He went to the doctor Tuesday because he was running a fever for two days and just didn't feel good. Turns out it was a virus, but that's not what the doctor was concerned about. She (the doctor) discovered he only has one testicle. She searched everywhere for it, having him stand up, lay down, etc. but just couldn't find it. She told my MIL (his caretaker really) that he's going to have to have surgery.

I was wondering 1.) Could him being premature cause this? 2.)Could this affect his growth (He's 4'3" and 50lbs. He hasn't gained weight since I met him almost 3 years ago) 3.)Has anyone else been through this, or had a son go through this? What was it like?
