Q: Sure signs of pregnancy
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 5th, 2009
I took a pregnancy test about a week ago.. because my last period just didnt seem right... when I read the test it had a faint plus sign.( i took that one in the morning. then I took another at night and it was negative. My last period wasnt normal. I normally start heavy on the first day and the second then it slowly faids off. lasting atleast 4 days. My period in april was heavy for about 1/2 a day then very light the rest of the day. then second day it was so light i didnt need to use anything. then that night it stopped. I have been having lower back pain, im almost always tired and if i sit still i tend to fall asleep, the last too morning i have been sick for about the first few hours, m breast hurt( even when washing them in shower. I was supposed to start yesterday and so far there is nothing not even a little spotting. Could I really be preganant?

No data was given about when you had sexual intercourse, or how long after the intercourse you took the pregnancy tests.

The symptoms you reported (lower back pain, tender breasts, tiredness) might be signs of pregnancy, but might also be related to other conditions and are therefore not considered sure signs of pregnancy. These signs are actually related to the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy. However, other conditions that cause the same hormonal changes might cause the same symptoms as well.

You might want to visit your gynecologist for hormonal laboratory tests and pelvic examination in order to check for pregnancy.
