here is my history. I am a 23 year old female who has felt my supraclavicle and neck lymph nodes for as long as i can remember. I had them checked by 3 doctors no one was concerned so I had a xray and abdominal ultra sound of my stomach. Nothing was found. I decided to be safe than sorry so I went to a hematologist/encologist and explained to her my concerns. I have no symptoms other than palpable lymph nodes. She explained to me some people can feel there lymph nodes even in their supraclavicle area and not to wrry but she prescribed me a full body ct scan to ease my mind.

The results of my full body ct goes as follows. No enlarged nodes from neck down.

4 enlarged nodes in neck. THe largest was 1.5cm x 1.9cm in base of neck in posterior triangle. Also a 1.1cm supraclavicle lymph node. A 1.2 cm in neck. And a 1.8 cm length however width was only .7mm with a benign appearance.

I also had all the blood work done which was perfect.

My doctor does not think I have cancer however I am a worrier so I pushed the biopsy. She said you only biopsy the largest node not all of the nodes its pointless. So i have an ultrasoundguided FNA biopsy with flow cytometry and all that stuff. I also am 95% sure they used a core needle biopsy as well cuz it was different and made a clicking noise.

Results of lymph node biopsy was benign and my doctor said enjoy being 23 your fine!!!! I was soooo happy and this was last week, now I decide to go online (bad bad thing to do) and I am afraid I still might have it. Even the radiologists with the ultrasound said this looks like a whole lot of nothing.

What else should I do to ease my mind?!?!!! I hear the FNA are inaccurate in diagnosing lymphoma however wouldnt the biopsy came up suspicious or something? It was perfect.

I also read the fna with ultrasound is very accurate that is why it is used so often..

can anyone please ease my mind? Are you able to feel lymph nodes even if they benign? she explained sometimes lymph nodes stay enlarged forever due to past infections. Just becaus eyou can feel the nodes doesnt mean they are cancerous yes even in supraclavicle. is this true? i shoulod be happy with my benign results and now im paranoid again
