Discerning between supra-ventricular and
ventricular tachycardia can be done only
with an ECG. Ventricular tachycardia is a
much more serious condition than the
supra-ventricular one. There are several
types of supra-ventricular tachycardia
starting from the easiest one – sinus
tachycardia. Other more serious types of
supra-ventricular tachycardia are: atrial
flatter, atrial fibrillation, “rambling
pacemaker”, nodal supra-ventricular
tachycardia, WPW-syndrome, etc.
Therapy depends upon the precise type of
tachycardia.
You should consult a cardiologist for
precise diagnosis of the tachycardia type
and proper treatment.
