support group atkins diet

I am looking for a meeting of atkins dieters to get support. I've done great years ago on atkins diet but due to loss of husband, care of dementia mother etc I've put on 50 pounds and NEED help getting back to my own health and weight issue. Is there any group meetings in Everett or Snohomish WA??

Otillia,
I too was on the Atkins diet years ago, lost track of how much I lost but after a while because of pressures such as yours, I went off it. I really don't know how it happened, but it did, however I am back at on it and have been for the past five months. I have lost about 50 lbs. and need to loose another 60 lbs or so. I will not allow external pressures to distract me anymore. I find that the moment I give in to the pressures I loose footing and am less able to cope and so goes the diet and my moral. My suggestion to you is to get back on track now - not tomorrow but now. I got back on my diet by just gettting back on it and not planning any further, just do it and you will find that by next week you will loose from 7 to 10 lbs. This in instead of planning any further.

Hi Parchilla,
Do you know of any in-person support group with Atkins? I've always been able to do it on my own with great success. But I FEEL hopeless and do not have that dedicated motivation to do it. Food, chocolate,or whatever fills my day.

Sorry not to be of help, but all I can do is offer my personal experiences with the Atkins diet, not much more. You might want to go on Craigslist and start your own support group in your area. Please let me know how it goes. Maybe we could figure out something down the road.
