My 14-month-old son will start to cry very suddenly. This cry is very distressed and will last 2-5 minutes. He will then throw up. He throws up just once, but it is a large amount. Often there is food that is undigested that he has eaten hours ago (4 hours). Just before he throws up, while he is crying, his skin will get very hot, red and sweaty. After he throws up he is absolutely fine. His skin returns to normal and he is a happy toddler. This occurs 1-3 times/weekly. We have monitored his eating since this started. He eats on a regular schedule. We have taken all food dyes out of his diet (concerned about dye intolerance). We have tracked with he is eating and there is not anything consistent that he has eaten (concerned about an allergy). Normally this has occurred during or right after dinner, but today it happened mid-morning about 2 hours after his breakfast. Any suggestions? We're a little lost on what to do. He pediatrician does not seem to be concerned, but my son suffered a large variety of illnesses during his first year of life. Bacterial infections in his lungs. Ear infections. Severe constipation. Pneumonia. Viruses. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks.
