Q: Sudden increase in heart rate

This has happened a few times over the past 3 or so years.
Its happened 3 or 4 times when ive been up and moving, but also when getting out of the shower, just sitting down, and in bed.
Basically my vision blurs for a second or two, my heart feels like its just made a huge push, and then its pounding really, really hard, so hard infact you can see my clothing move quite a bit.
This usually lasts a few minutes and then, its like a sudden stop, and then its back to normal.
MY breathing isnt really faster, just a bit more laboured.
Ive read about heart arrhythmia but non of this mentions at how sudden it starts and stops, so im not sure that this is what im experiencing.
I don't have much caffiene, just the odd energy drink and a coffee maybe once or twice a week.
I wish id had noted down when its happened in the past whether i was stressed or not, whether i had consumed caffiene, what i'd had to eat etc, but, it didnt occur to me at the time to do so so sadly i can't really recognise a pattern emerging.
Any help would be very very helpful as i dont want to waste hours sitting in a hospital waiting room and have to lose work because of that.
Thankyou for any help.

I think ive found out what the problem is, so im leaving a reply just incase anybody else who having this worry finds this post.
I found a question that pinpoints what i was trying to describe in my original post.
Turns out its called 'paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia'.
