I had a stroke (right parital)May 3, 2006 and was able to return to work full-time. Do to my young age at the time of this stroke (52yrs) intense testing was done to find out the exact cause! I had started HRT on Jan 3, 2006 (which, of course, was d/c'd immediately after the stroke) and a Transesopogeal echocardiogram revealed that I had a patent foramen ovale. This heart defect was closed in Dec. 2006. My question--I was working at my computer around 9pm 2 weeks ago and suddenly felt as though a cloud was covering my brain--this caused me to fall forward. I thought that I fell asleep, but remembered everything. Since that evening I find it hard to concentrate, sometimes (not always) find it hard to understand people and it is so embarassing to ask people to repeat their conversation. I plan to make an appointment with a diagnotic clinic next week as the "brain fog" is not getting better. Could I have had a TIA? Did not have any other symptoms of a stroke.
