I'm a healthy, sexually active 21 yr old male. I have had unwise, unprotected sex within the past few weeks and have not yet made it by to get tested just yet, but am about to make an appointment.

About a week ago, I noticed a round lump developing (under the skin, outside of the corpora -- no open wound) about midway down my shaft, on the right side. At first I believed it to be an ingrown hair or pimple or the like, so I attempted to pop it. While I was indeed able to squeeze out a small amount of puss like any other pimple, it caused a strange pain in my right testicle despite being inches away and seemingly complete unattached to the testicle. And I wasn't really able to get the lump to go away by squeezing the puss out.

The next day, to my dismay, I had realized that not only had the subdermal lump remained and hardened, but it had in fact started to grow, stretching slightly under my shaft, towards my urethra. Today, 4 days later, the hardened growth stretches just over half an inch long and maybe a few millimeters wide.

The initial site of the grow feels directly attached to the skin, while the remaining length of the growth is relatively unattached to the skin above it.

I'm quite fearful of what this growth may be, but I'm also hesitant of going to a doctor because I have no health insurance and am living paycheck to paycheck as it is. Can anyone shed some light on the possibilities of what this may be, or perhaps affordable methods for me to see someone about it?

Thanks in advance.
