Consider observing your abdomen. Place your hands on your abdomen (top and on sides) during the bout of cramps and see if there is uterine contraction associated. If uterine activity is present, it might suggest onset of labor. Sometimes few women can experience âBraxton Hickâsâ type of contractions before actual onset of labor. Visit your gynecologist/midwife for a thorough evaluation to differentiate the two. Look out for other signs like passing of âshowâ (cervical mucus plug), rupture of the water bag, increase in intensity of cramps and low back pain etc.
