Coconut butter is supposed to help, but I'm not sure that anything will make them go away! Believe me, I've tired. Stretch marks are caused by your body growing faster than the skin can keep up with, or loosing weight so fast that the skin cannot compensate. It's normal although you may not like the way it looks. Try using some intensive skin cream every night before bed and see if the appearence improves. Otherwise, don't worry yourself sick over it! =) EVERYBODY has stretch marks. It's okay.

You can't get rid of them, it's because of the skin type and obesity (sometimes it has to do with hormones). If they are red you need to lose weight, nothing else can help. I have the same problem, I first got them at the age of 14, at my arms, my stomach and my back. When I lost a lot of weight, they are still there, but at lease they do not look that bad.

I don't think it's ALL caused by being overweight. I am not overweight and I got stretch marks during puberty, because of hormones and just "filling out" in certain places. A person can even get them from building muscle too quickly. It's caused by the skin's inability to "stretch" fast enough. Sure, some is caused by gaining weight, but don't give the guy a complex about it.

I guess it's a trade off in some cases: you get the muscles but you get some stretch marks. My boyfriend has huge biceps and some stretch marks, but I love the way his arms look. I guess if you're okay with yourself you're not gonna let the stretch mark bother you. I used to be imbarressed of mine, but if it doesn't bother my boyfriend, it doesn't bother me.
