Strep Throat Possibility

Hi,

I had severe cough problems in March 2011 and I visited a doctor and took the prescribed medicines and after 30 days I got recovered from Cough.

But problems continued after it in throat and I developed Swollen tonsils and lymph nodes. Again visited the doctor and it continued for a months time and then i got some sort of relief from it but not completely. Again it occurred in July 2011 and developed White or yellow spots on the back of a bright red throat (only two on the left side).

NOTE: The swollen tonsils are on the left side of the throat and right side looks OK to me.

I have visited an ENT specialist this time and was given antibiotics and some oral rinse to gargle (7 Days Course). its been 4 days now and no signs of recovery can be noticed. The throat looks same and i am also caught by cold and runny nose from yesterday.

The ENT specialist has asked me to visit again after 7 days but he did not tell me whether I have strep throat or not, he just prescribed the medicines.

Now, I am worried why it is not going away and do I need a surgery to get it removed? I just dont want that to happen. If requested I can post the pictures of my throat too.
