Okay so after having a sore throat, swollen glands, and white spots all over the left side of my throat I went to the doctor where she stated I had strep throat. She gave me a shot of steriods there also prescribed penicillin and tynelnol 3's for pain. This was 8 days ago. She said it would clear up in 3 to 4 days but minus me being able to swallow again everything is the same. The white spots remain, it's swollen on the left side of the back of my throat where the spots are located which is a huge lump the size of a golf ball when I feel upward on my neck, I have also been experiencing head aches and random ear aches like an ear infection. Also experiencing cold like symptoms with running nose. Any ideals? I have tried taking Lozenges, no help.

Could it be tonsilitious (?spelling). If so then you might need a different course of antibotics to get rid of the infection
