my friend and i exchanged oral sex 2 days ago. i woke up with a sore neck and throat. when i went 2 the dr., i was told it was strep. is it possible that i got it from giving oral? Question

sunniebunnie, It is not normal to get strep from oral sex.

I am not trying to scare you. It might have been pure coincidence that you got strep after oral sex. Some other STDs can give you strep like symptoms (specifically chlamydia and gonorrhea).

Did your doctor do a test culture for strep? Was it strep a or strep b? Is there any chance that your partner could have an STD?
