i had unprotected oral sex about two weeks ago and am now noticing severe throat pain, redness, and small white bumps on the tonsils. i was tested for strep only and it was positive so ive been on antibiotics but does that rule out the possible cause for the sore throat as being gonorrhea? do i just have strep or could it have been caused by a gonorrhea infection?

Chances are taht you should let sleeping dogs lie and assume it was strep. The doctor probably....no no, he WOULDN'T have gotten a positive strep reading if it wasn't strep. Besides, even if it was partially from Gonorrhea, he'll probably prescribe you some sort of penicillin antibiotic, which judging by the names in the antibiotics for treatment of Gonorrhea (which I looked up), you should have neither if you had both in the first place, after you use up your perscription. If you still think you may have an STD from Oral sex, you should be TESTED! Not only can you get Gonorrhea orally, but also HIV. This something that you SHOULD get tested for if you think you're exposed and please.....ALWAYS USE PROTECTION! If you don't know him well enough to know if he has an STD or not, you don't know him well enough to Blow Him!

You might have both.. It's wise to stop having oral sex until you settle down and even then use a condom if you feel you must go down.. There are some nasty people out there nowadays. Love yourself first.
