Q: Strange pain on left side after surgical abortion

I had a medical abortion that did not complete and had to have a surgical to complete on 3/5. The doctor called it a "clean up". My follow up is not until 3/27.

I have frequent annoying pain on the left side of my uterus/ovary. I'm not sure which. It's very strange. It's not severely painful or anything just very noticeable and in such a strange place.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this after a surgical abortion?

I do remember that the pain during the surgical was so intense and it was only on my left side.

I hope everything is alright with me. It just seems like I shouldn't be having pain there.

Any ideas?

hi Sunbrown,
I had a similar experience after a surgical abortion, except on my right side. I felt it during and immediately after the procedure and it continued to linger. When I asked about it, they told me that it was normal and can sometimes hurt where the implantation occurred. I am not sure why, but my guess is that it it was more attached at that place and possibly pulled away more roughly. Again, Im not sure, but to me it felt like a scab or bruised area inside, in one little place.

For me, in a strange coincidence, this "pain" was further complicated by a muscle pull from sitting in my chair sideways during work... on the same side. Rolling Eyes Since I've started sitting right and since time has gone on, the pain has gone away. It definitely felt like ovary or inside the uterus. It lasted a few months. I hope this helps.

If it persists, go to a clinic or obgyn and have them take a quick look. That is what I was going to do Wink
Have a lovely day!

Thanks for your response. Yes, what you describe is exactly what I experienced also! The pain has completely gone away but did persist for a while. It's interesting to know someone else experienced it too.
