According to the data you provided (thrown head back felt pulling in throat now have lump feeling and pain running from neck to right ear), you might have over strained your muscle. The muscle might have temporarily misplaced a little bit, thus putting pressure on the sensory nerve that goes from the neck to the area behind the ears.

You might want to put heat on the muscle to try to relax it. It might also reduce the pain. You might want to visit your family doctor for a physical examination. He might recommend non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs. Drugs from the benzodiazepine group might also be recommended, although sedation might be experienced as a side-effect when using them (it is not recommended to take them when driving if you have not consulted with a doctor previously).

Other spasmolytics might be recommended to relieve the spasm of the muscle which is most likely the reason for the pain from the neck to the right ear.
