Q: Strained neck...

About a month ago I took a trip & the car ride was a few hours long and somehow I strained my neck. The next day it was very sore & tight. It is no longer painful but it twitches. It does this everyday, all day & is very annoying. Plus, I think it may be causing me to have headaches on a daily basis. What can I do to release the stress I'm feeling in my neck? Thanks in advance!

I re-injure the same place in my neck and have been seeking treatment for it for a few years now. It comes and goes, but my symptoms seems similar to yours.

I'd suggest that you consult either an orthopedist surgeon or a chiropractor. I know that some people do not believe in physical manipulation of the spine (especially the cervical spine), but a chiropractor helped me with extreme neck pain a few years ago. She took X-rays of the spine and SHOWED me where my bones were out of alignment and causing nerve stress (my fingers were going numb).

Alternatively, you can seek help from a Chinese acupunturist. I further tweaked my neck whilst sleeping in a hammock and went to see a Chinese doctor who REALLY helped alleviate the pain quickly. The needle was inserted between my ring finger and pinky finger...and although it hurt, it worked! Another thing that has helped me was to see a healer who specializes in muscle alignment. She massaged (strong!) the muscles of my neck until I felt a twang! and the pain subsided. Just suggestions.

Do you know how to look for people in your area who might be able to help?
