strabismus

Dear doctor ,
I had a CRVO in my left eye since 1999 , i had made laser twice since then my eye condition is stable with a good eye pressure , i have questions as the following:
1-Since the last 6 months the squint in my eye had increased, the doctor told that it can increase more in the near future and the surgery results are not guaranteed , he told me the best thing we can expect from the surgery is a few years of straightening eyes before returning crossed again , meanwhile this operation can not be repeated than 2 times ,please advise and comment
2-I read on the web that it is possible to find a cure with stem cells within 5 years , can this be helpful to my case
