Stopping pills to control period

Alright, most women want to know how to stop their period by continuing their birth control pills and skipping the placebo...

well my question is a little different!
I'm on Ortho Tri Cyclen, and since each pill has a different dose, any time I have tried to skip it I just spot heavily for the rest of the month.

I am going away to Europe with my long distance boyfriend on the 19th... which is around the time I'm supposed to start!

So I was thinking... I'm on day 5 of my new pack of pills, I thought I would finish up this week, then stop taking them so that my period is next week, and then start a new pack of pills like normal Smile ?

Do you think this will work? It's kind of backwards from what most girls do!

PS- I'm not concerned with pregnancy as we always use Condoms as well.

WHEN you stop pills like that you lose protection.

AFTER you started the pills again, you would need to use back-up for 7 days before you are fully protected by bc PILLS.

Condoms are not very good BC, as they can rip, leak, or tear, so make sure you look at the condom after you are done.

There is NO guarantee you will have your period when you stop, you may not, then have a lot of bleeding when you start back up.

It is not dangerous to have sex on your period.
