I have stopped taking my birth control in early december sometime, and have only come on my period twice i believe. I came on in January and cant remember if i did in february or not, but i have not had sex with anyone. i also have been dieting, and went to 145 pounds to 125 pounds, so i was wondering is it normal to not have started my period yet in mid march? Also is me not coming on my period because of me stopping my birth control, when can i expect my period to be normal again? Also i want to start back taking a different birth control but you have to start the sunday after you start your period, but is it okay to just start on that sunday anyway even if you have not started yet? and if not why?

Yes it is normal to have abnormal periods after you stop taking birth control pills. If you had irregular periods before you went on that pill that increases the chances as well. Your body may also be stressed by the changes in your hormone level (less hormones due to stopping the pill) and the loss of weight. Stress or big changes like that can prevent you from getting your period. It is hard to say when you will get your period, though, and it sounds like you really want to start a new pill, but the directions do say to start the sunday after your period. This is because it is trying to get you on a schedule, so you know at the end of the pack of pills, (placebo week) this is when you are going to get your period. If you don't have your period when you start taking the pills, you never know when you will get your period and it may not match up with when the placebo pills (period week) are supposed to be taken. I really think you should wait it out a bit longer, or maybe think about asking your doctor their advice.
