Hi, I stopped taking birth control last month. I was on it to help regulate my cycle and I have also be diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. This month my cycle has not shown up. I am only a few days late. I heard that sometimes when you stop taking the pill, it can throw your system out of wack for a few months. Any suggestions? Thanks.

There is nothing you can do but wait for your body to get itself back on track. Because you were on birth control to regulate your period, you should kow that you will probably not have a normal period on your own.

no cycle after stopping birth control
I have a similar situation, but it has been 2 years and still nothing....
I've gone into the doctor and she said some delay was normal (said that a year ago). She said she could do hormone treatment if I wanted to have a baby. I don't so I am not taking anything.
I have since lost my insurance and cannot go back in... It has been nice, but does anyone know of any long term negative effects if I continue to not cycle????
