My situation is a little different. I started taking Seasonale for convenience and not necessity. I wanted ligther periods, less cramps, and only 4 periods a year. My husband is snipped.

I got them prescribed in April but didn't start taking them til end of May b/c I am going on a business trip and wanted not to have to worry about my period during that time (it's in Barbados)

First about 6 weeks were just fine, except I noticed tender breasts and my face breaking out (NEVER happened before - I'm 31) but figured it was just a side effect. I forgot to take my pill at the exact time on only 2 occasions and at the end of 6weeks the breakthru bleeding started...at first it was just very very minor, so I was fine, then it went to having to wear a pantyliner, and then a tampon/sanitary napkin. I am at the end of week 7 and the bleeding has not stopped. I also was experiencing cramps every day, and a couple times, sudden 'contraction-like' cramps. I've also noticed not a budge in weight loss, and my waistline getting thicker, and have been TIRED and needing a nap every day. I've also become VERY VERY unpleasant to be around.

I went to the doc 2 days ago, did a urine sample, they took blood (to test thyroid) they gave me another gyno exam, and did an ultrasound. My uterus was just fine and everything else was so far. He told me to stay on them...but after another day of excruciating cramps, I said enough and I stopped it yesterday. Would you advise I stop it for a week and restart, stop and wait to see what my doc recommends before I fly out? Question

I'm a little upset that I may be bleeding and cramping now my whole trip so I can't enjoy it comfortably. I'll be gone a month. Also do you think it will take a while for my body to readjust since I've only taken about 7weeks of them? Again I don't 'have' to take them it's not for birth control for me. doctor

Thanks for your time.
