I have IBS, but it's always 100X worse and a completely different pain when I wake up early.

Not just when I wake up, but only when I wake up early. I have late classes, so I usually don't wake up until 11-1:00.

but I have been doing construction lately, did it last year and the year before... and As far as I can remember, when ever I have to get up earlier than I'd like to.... I get this horrible frikken stomach pain.

it's this bubbling in the stomach with gas and bloating, followed by an immense urge to defecate. I sit on the sh1tter only to be constipated, which sucks when I am working.

then 30 minutes later, back on the toilet only to not crap again. 30 minutes later it happens again. Ect ect. the pain goes on and on.

Now this is how my IBS is sometimes, but its an entirely different feeling and pain than usual and it lasts the WHOLE DAY(not just the early hours). It's literally every time I get up early. like 10 am or earlier. (may not be early to some) help? thanks, and any info on the best ways to treat IBS would be great

"bubbling, gas, bloating"
Maybe you are lactose intolerant, or eat too much fruit.

My brother has IBS, try staying away from any form of the following:

Coffee, sodas, apple juice, grape juice, beans

When he eats these things, its "all over with".

"Wake up early"
Also try not to eat too late. When I eat late I wake up with insane stomach pains which I have to stop by eating a huge breakfast.

"Sh1tter constipation"
Try drinking more water, that's usually the main reason for constipation.

I am not a doctor, nor claim that my situation can resolve another persons medical condition. This did, and continues to help me when I have the issue as described above. With ANY advice, always make sure to get a second opinion from your doctor or nurse hotline.

I hope this helps!!

thanks for the responce but actually, I probably don;t eat enough fruits or vegtables, and I do drink plenty of water

but I can see how eating too much at night could pose a problem. I do that often

but the weird thing is, regardless of what I did the night before... this pain is completely different and ten times worse than any GI issues I've ever experienced, but this only happens when I wake up early.

early morning abdominal pain
My daughter is experiencing the same exact thing. She is being tested next week for celiac disease (by endoscopy). It's awful.
