Any ideas? I've recently had an endoscopy as well as a colonoscopy to check out some pain issues. I've also had my gall bladder checked out which was fine, no stones. I have a slightly elevated white cell count around 12000 and a small increase in a liver enzyme. I also had no evidence of a hiatal hernia. I was told post scopes that I had a small ulcer, slight esophagitis, gastritis, and slight colitis. What confuses me is that nothing I am told to avoid eating sets off what I describe as an attack. Normally I feel fine when in a matter of minutes I have severe pain from the base of my ribs to my wasteline. This usally lasts from 10 - 30 minutes than clears up quickly. I've had several kidney stones in the past, this pain is just as bad.
Also and just as puzzling, these attacks only occur on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday evenings as if on a schedule. Any other thoughts? My dr.'s diagnosis of "slight" this and that along with the list of supposed irritants doesn't make total sense. Especially when I can eat or drink anything in any quantity without discomfort and these attacks seem to have a schedule. I've been taking Zantac for 2 weeks without relief. I have had some luck with popping 40 mg. Protonix at the onset of pain and it seems to shorten the incident. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
