my 9 year old daughter has had severe stomach pain that seems to radiate from the belly button and up. we have had several sonograms, colonoscopies, endoscopies, cat scans, KUB xrays, mri, and today had a hida scan. she has also had constipation with this pain. so far, all they have found was mesenteric adenitis. her gi doc has us do the hida scan to see if it could be gallbladder disease. when they administered the last med for the end of the test, she had severe pain that went up to the chest area, but subsided about 20 minutes later. she has felt relatively normal since the test up until 8 hours after the test. she is having stomach pain that goes up into the ribs and seems to feel worse than ever. Could the pain be from the meds given during the scan today? and do you think this could be gall bladder disease. we wont get results for 3 days, and i dont know what to do for her until then.

Has your daughter been tested for celliac desease? What does she eat? Is she over weight? If she is like most children that live on carbs and fats that could be the issue. When I was young I often had stomach issues along with constipation. Eating any fast food would make me feel nautious. Along with the constipation I suffered with bleeding hemorrhoids. I contribute my problems (when I was a child and an adult) to a lack of digestive enzymes due to genetics. I didn't eat right, I never ate raw vegetables when I was younger like most children. This could be detrimental to someone who is without the proper amount of enzymes in their body. I also think in some way hormones play a part in our digestion process for example I had problems prior to and during puberty, when I was pregnant and now when I am perimenopausal. When I was older I changed my diet and ate better. That helped for a while. I continued to have minor bouts of constipation. Fat is something I always had to avoid. I am 43 and had to have my gall bladder removed because it didn't function anymore. You daughter could just be suffering from a lack of enzymes. They can test for this with a stool sample. Look up digestive enzymes and do your research. Enzymes when taken in supplement form are also known to reduce inflammation. Your daughter is young but that doesn't mean she can't be deficient in enzymes. Enzymes are very safe and a natural supplement if you want to try something that could help her out. If you are interested in trying some the enzymes I take are GNC's super digestive enzymes 2-4 with each meal. Your daughter may need 1-2 enzymes per meal depending on how much she eats. Small meals 4-5 times per day is better, lots of fresh veggies aldente or raw, low-no fat diet (supplement with omega3 fish oil capsules because the body needs fat) no caffeine, low sugar, try to eat less white flour and eat more complex carbs. All these things will help your daughters digestion. Good Luck
