Hi. I am 24 years old. Started having severe sharp pains in my stomach when i was 16. I would be doubled over in extreme pain. They tested my gallbladder, nothing. So diagnosed me with IBS and anxiety. Fast forward to present. I am still having pains. They can last anywhere to several hours (rarely) to 12-48 hours (most common), Ive had them last for several days. The pain is in my stomach, kind of hard to pinpoint but it is not just on my right side. It is my entire upper abdomen and radiates through to my back (left, right, middle, lower). I occasionally have bouts of severe vomitting, yellow in color, associated with my pain which usually lasts all day also. Nausea and not being able to eat is always a problem when having an attack. Last time I had an attack I was sweating profusely and freezing cold with no fever (97.6). Certain foods, overeating (though not alot but apparently so) seem to cause pain.
He has tried rantitdine, aciphex and now prevacid all have not helped stop the pain or being able to eat.
My doctor is again exploring my gallbladder. I had the ultrasound done and he stated that it was severely contracted even though I fasted 12 hours before the test. They want me to have a HIDA scan done. Im starting to doubt me gallbladder now.
Last night I found out the H. Pylori can cause ulcers. When I was pregnant with my second child (she's 2) my OB told me I had H. Pylori, never been treated for it. They made it sound like some people have it some dont no big deal so I just forgot about it. So I researched it and it came up it causes ulcers. I believe I have what sounds like gastric ulcers along with penetration. It matches all of my symptoms.
I am a self pay patient and would like the correct treatment and tests done the first go round. I do not want any unnecessary test done to further me in debt but would really like to know what is going on with me as it is severely effecting my daily life. Please give me some insight as to what you think might be going on with me.

If you have stomach pains for so long and tested positive for Helicobacter pillory you can request upper endoscopy (gastroscopy) to exclude peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum. People who are positive to Helicobacter pillory and have symptoms should take therapy for eradication of the bacteria.
HIDA-scan is used to estimate the function of the gallbladder. Some functional disorders of the gallbladder, that can be diagnosed only with HIDA-scan, can cause pains similar to yours.
