Hmmm. Quit drinking. Work with your doctor.
Alcohol is a risk factor for GI bleeding, more so when combined with aspirin or anti-inflammatories. How high a risk? I'll pretty much guarantee you'll bleed before your back pain goes away. The state of your liver depends on alot of factors, age, heredity, amount of alcohol etc etc. There are easy tests to determine how much damage your liver has now and it's potential for failure or recovery. There are non-drug options for chronic pain, like accupuncture and accupressure, PT and exercise.
