Q: stinging after yeast infection treatment

After a culture, on May 19th, i discovered i had a vaginal yeast infection. I took two pills of Diflucan 150 mg (Fluconazole) and applied Betazole in the area - as my doctor prescribed me two years ago to treat my yeast infection. This time, after following the same treatment for two weeks, the symptoms didn't go away; in fact, they became worse, so i decided to use Canesten Ovules 200mg (Clotrimazole) for three consecutive nights.

The symptoms didn't go away this time either. I went to the doctor, he told me to take a single dose of Fluconazole 150 mg, to use Nizoral Ovules 400 mg (Ketoconazole) for three consecutive nights, and to apply Nizoral Cream in the area for three weeks. Right after using the ovules i was feeling better, but yesterday (6 days from the beginning of the new treatment) I experimented a terrible burning sensation. I don't know if stinging is normal when using Nizoral Cream, or if i should stop using it. I'm a bit concerned, because it's clearly specified that the use of the cream should not be interrupted until the treatment is completed, because there might be the possibility that the infection doesn't disappear. The whitish discharge is present in my underwear; which i think is a demonstration that the yeast infection is still there.

I've been dealing with this yeast infection for over six weeks. Tomorrow it's going to be a week i've been under the new treatment. How much more should i wait for the symptoms to disappear? should i stop using Nizoral Cream? i don't know what else to do. I'm very concerned. Could you please help me?

Sorry about your ordeal...The drug route is not going to help you if have a Candidia imbalance in your system; a yeast infection is a symptom of this imbalance. As long as this remains, the infections will keep coming back. Hope this will help you more:
I have had so many yeast infections and like you, I've had the recurring ones until I couldn't take it anymore. Once, I found the right approach (and it certainly wasn't with doctors) I have never had another for over 2 years now. Good luck!
