I can't seem to find what this feeling is, or what causes it, as I can't find anyone else who experiences it.

It's not at all a sexual feeling, but it feels really good. It's like a really relaxed, but tingly, feeling that is strongest in my neck and chest.

It only happens when I'm getting some kind of attention or talking to someone that has a comforting voice.

Here are two examples:

The latest occurrence was when I started working on this project with a friend. I just met this person through work and we started working on a project outside of work that we are both excited about. Whenever I'm working on it, I get the feeling.

Another occurrence was when I was younger. I met this guy at a coffee shop. I was about 15 years old, he was about 70. He had a comforting, but screechy voice, and he would talk about his days being raised on a farm. It was kind of boring, but very relaxing to hear.

I mention these events because I never have this feeling unless someone is giving me attention or I am working with someone on some kind of project.

Is there a name for this or is it something that I have heard of but didn't know that this was it?

I don't know of a name for what you describe. It may be that endorphins are released when you feel relaxed and good about yourself. Working on a project with a friend can be relaxing and a pleasurable experience and would produce feelings of well being which is the result of chemical release in the brain - serotonin is the chemical responsible for feelings of well being. I can't tell you why this occurs for you but it sounds like a positive experience.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. I'll do some research and see if this is what it is.
