Carpal tunnel syndrome is accompanied by very clear signs and symptoms. But how do symptoms change as the syndrome progresses? More info here....
I recently had endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgery on each of my hands. I had my right (dominant) wrist done on April 11 and the left wrist done on April 22. I had the second set of stitches removed on May 6. I think I'm recovering pretty well but am beginning to feel frustrated. I don't know if I'm just being impatient though. I am still feeling quite a lot of weakness in my wrists and have a hard time picking up anything even kinda heavy. Also, I am feeling a slight pain or burning feeling in both of my wrists. This usually occurs when I'm trying to do something around th house. I don't work and my husband & daughter (1Cool have been taking wonderful care of me but I'm ready to start doing things for myself again. Unfortunately, each time I try to do something - such as cook dinner, do laundry, surf the internet - I always pay the price of pain afterwords. Am I just pushing myself too hard? When I went in for my stitches to be removed I mentioned it to my doctor & he said to only do what I can do without pain or discomfort. I guess I need to be more patient! I'm also crazy about knitting & crochet (probably where the CTS came from along with lots of computer use). How soon before I'll be able to do that without any pain at all?

Hi hookedoncrochet and welcome to ehealth: I guess the best thing I can tell you is what your physician told you..."Do what you can without pain or discomfort"....

Yes, it does take time..Even after they are healed there will be some days when you may feel some pain when they get tired..When this happens then cut back...I am sure that in the end that you will be happy....I wish you well...Take care...
