Steroids have very serious side effects but only if they are used for a long time. There are certain diseases (chronic inflammatory disorders) where steroids have to be used continuously for the whole life and, in such cases. side effects can’t be avoided. Four shots of steroids shouldn’t cause any serious side effects. Tennis elbow is basically treated with medicines,, physical therapy, and surgery.
