Symptoms of most sexually transmitted diseases include: difficulty urinating (dysuria), pain on urinating and discharge (vaginal in women and urethral in men) sometimes with pus. The discharge may appear any time of the day. If the Chlamydia swab was negative, then most probably it is not Chlamydia infection.

Due to the seroconversion, the HIV tests after six and 12 months are considered most reliable. The actual percent always depends on the laboratory standard. Usually three months are sufficient time for the antibodies detected with the tests to develop in 99%. The 12 months check is recommended in people who took antiretroviral therapy during the window period and if negative, is considered definitive.
