i plan to go to get tested at an std clinc today. What test will they be doing? Any advice !

STD tests aren't the same for everyone. If you're sexually active, you'll need a PAP smear at minimum. You may also be tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia (same test). If you test positive for either of these diseases or if you request it, they'll call you back and test you for Syphilis, hepatitis and HIV. If you like, you can also request the HPV DNA test for evidence of both low-risk types of HPV (cold sores and genital warts)...talk this over with your doc! That about covers it, I think. Did I miss anything?

Alot of times you cannot request the dna hpv test unless you have reason to believe you are infected with hpv such as visible bumps (warts) or abnormal paps. I guess it depends on your insurance/clinic.

Well i went to the clinic and all went very well, they are really nice people there, i tested for two different stis and did the test myself i now have to wait two weeks for the results
