I'm a traveler, currently based in Istanbul, Turkey. I try to collect information about every region I live in, and visit, just for safety & security.

Currently, I have no idea about where to get tested for STDs (sexually transmitted diseases / sexually transmitted infections) in Istanbul (or in Turkey, in general).

I'm assuming that one can walk into any hospital or gynecological office, and ask for tests, but it's not that simple, in terms of costs, etc.

Does anyone know any free or low-cost clinics or medical centers based in Istanbul? And, how common are those sorts of things in Turkey? Are there places that will accept foreign health insurance policies? Or who will treat women who are victims of rape for free?
