How is it possible for me to contract an std (now spread to a full-blown PID) and my husband claims after my diagnosis that he only has a "poison ivy rash" on his penis and mantains he has never cheated?? Married 12 years, five kids and I have NEVER had any kind of vaginal or yeast infection or uti, ever. NEVER been unfaithful.

Help me with this one.

unless he is running around the woods with his dick out brushing it up against Poison Ivy Leaves, then I'm sure it's something worth looking in to.

Thank you for answering. I posted the situation b/c I'm too embarrassed to actually ask friends and needed an objective opinion and a reality check. Your answer confirms what I'm already thinking. Thanks again.

a yeast infection can be caused by things other than be sexually transmitted (e.g. taking antibiotics) but if it is something like chlamidia then that it std and 1 of u has had 2 have got it from somewhere unless it could have beed dormant 4 all this time but i doubt it.

It's not a yeast infection - it's bacterial. or are those the same thing? My ob prescribed antibiotics - which would be in direct conflict with your information that a yeast infection can be caused by taking antibiotics. And I am bleeding bright red fresh blood (and passed a large clot of tissue once)every time I wipe (sorry so graphic), which is not a symptom of a yeast infection, if I understand the info right.

Called my ob tody and told her about husband's claim of poison ivy on/in his member. she aske how he got it there only and doesn't have it anywhere else. She suggested I test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

I want to give him every benefit of the doubt but i don't want to be in denial either.

Well most likely he cheated on you. I mean theres no other reason than that, if you've been married for 12 years well we all now the anser to that. You should get a pap smear usually everything shows up in the results.
