Is it possible for a person to survive on only Ensure Plus?
My mother has 2 aneurysms in her aorta, one in the upper and
one in the lower. When she eats regular food her pain is unbearable
so she refuses to eat anything. She is 75 years old. We have gotten
her to drink Ensure Plus which doesn't hurt her as much and she
takes oxycodone for the pain but it doesn't help. In the mean
time we have stabilized her weight at 97.6 lbs. She drinks 3 a day.
350 calories each. Her doctor is trying to get a specialist to
repair her aneurysms but none of them want to touch her.
She hasn't had a bowel movement for 2 weeks. Her doctor said
it is because she is just eating the ensure. Can she survive off
just the ensure for 3 weeks?
