Starting birth control early. Posted: 07-04-08 12:31pm
I want to start my birth control pills
again, and I'm on Thursday of my period,
but I wanted to know if I could take them
now and start my cycle rather than waiting
the 7 days until Sunday to start. Is this
okay?

If i understand you correctly you've just
stopped for a couple of days and want to
start back taking pills earlier than
usual. I dont think this is a great idea.
If i were you i'd just take the pill break
properly or not take it at all, as in
carry on straight through to your next
pack. Messing around with pills and days
like that doesnt seem like the best idea i
dont think. Well, i wouldnt do it anyway.

Hmm wouldn't this be ok? Lots of people go
through many months without having their
period by just taking packs back to back
(ie if they have a vacation or wedding or
something).
This is what I have read, but I am also
wondering myself.
I am waiting for my period (ended my 21
pack 2 days ago) and wanted to start the
new pack right away because I have a
vacation next month that I'd be getting my
period on.
Is it ok to wait a few days for my period
to start (just to make sure I'm not
pregnant!!) and then start my 21 cycle
again? So instead of 7 days of no pills,
it'd be ~2-3?

This would be okay. It is not okay to
miss active pills, but it is okay to miss
sugar pills. You can take two packs in a
row and you'd be fine. You can wait 2
days between packs, 5 days between
packs...it doesn't matter. It only gets
dangerous if you wait more than 7 days
between packs.
