Started YAZ after IUD expulsion Posted: 05-16-08 16:50pm
I
happened to be in the 4% that has their
IUD Paragard expel, it moved some and they
couldn't push it back in place so they had
to remove it, i have been bleeding for
about 2 weeks. i hope that i'm not
pregnant even though i don't want to think
like that.
i have had bad cases with ortho-lo and
nuvaring with weight gain and them making
me crazy but my doc put me on YAZ and told
me to start today, Friday.
I am at the middle of my cycle and was
wondering if I should treat it as a day 1
start (i'm protected) or wait 7 days like
a sunday start. my pharmacist said i can
treat it as a day 1 start but wanted to
see what some women thought.
If you started taking birth control pills
in the middle of the cycle you won't be
protected well until you get your next
period. After you get your next period and
continue taking pills you will be
protected. So, you should use condoms
until you get your next period. It is not
normal to bleed more than 2 weeks but if
bleeding is functional Yaz should help. If
bleeding doesn't stop after start taking
Yaz it could be due to some organic
reasons (infection, tumor etc.). IUD
increases the risk for uterine
infections.
Are you still bleeding?
