I was told by my dermatologist that rash and boils on my butt area was a staph infection about a month ago. He prescribed me a pill called smz/tmp. I been taking it for a month but theres no signs of improvement. recently, more boils have appeared and it hurts to sit and also leaves my underwater red with dried pus and blood. i called to see my dermatologist again but his patient load is full at the moment. what should i do?

i know your pain!
just the antibiotics arent enough. you have to wash two or three times a day with a strong antibactial soap, change any garments that come into contact with it often and wash your hands every time you touch it with antibacterial soap. Boil your sheets that you have used. Only use your towels once, and boil them with your sheets. let your underpants sit in a bleach solution before washing. ESPECIALLY when its draining. the pus is highly infectious! so if it is draining, cover with a large bandage and antibactrial cream and change the dressing three times a day. i went so far as to buy the stuff they use to clean you before ops in the hospital, it wasnt expensive and after each shower, soak a facecloth in it and wipe yourself down from tip to toe. its a bit of a mission but if it prevents them from returning, as i have read they can be impossible to elimate unless you really go at them full steam!!! it seems to be working ... good luck... i know how incredibly painful they are. i ended up with two visits to the doctor., fevers and chills and didnt go out for a week in case someone bumped me... thats how sore it was. its still draining after four days - thats how big it was. the first and only one of my life and im 40. My husband works on the rigs and got two (he also never had them before) he came home and i got this one a week later. thats how contagious they are! we didnt know they were contagious as we had never had one before in our life.
