Unfortunately, it is impossible to accurately estimate how long any individual cancer patient will live, with or without treatment. However, I can tell you that if this person's breast cancer is sensitive to estrogen-blocking hormones, then treatment with these medications (as well as with chemotherapy, in many cases) has definitely been shown to improve survival significantly (and, in fact, many such patients can live comfortably for many years if their metastatic cancer responds well to these treatments).
