My doctor took a biopsy, turned out to be squamous cell skin cancer. He wants me to wait a month for the biopsy site to heal and then they will do more cutting to ensure that the margins are clear. Has anyone had this experience before? I have had basal skin cancer removed in the past, but it is much scarier now that it is squamous. Just looking for people who may have been through this...

Keep an eye out for any new growths of this type of skin cancer...Generally they pop up in the same area...My husband just had two biopsies for the possible basal skin cancer and both came back negative...Believe me, I know this type of cancer..All forms of skin cancer are scary, but only if it is left untreated...The important thing is to be checked by a Dermatologist every 6 months or year....

As a Mother of a son that has been pretty carved up from Melanoma, I would say not to worry...They are on this early...

Good luck...
